Silk madrigals, cycle of photographs

A view of the dance of silk in the wind opens before us, above the misty surface of the sea. The images of silk squares caught in the lens reflect freedom and joy. Art comes alive. Here and there, Svila reveals centuries-old stone buildings and monuments, which should bear witness far into the future. Both offer an impression of solidity and timelessness.

Is the soft and unpredictable movement of the silk squares next to them just a dream? Could it be that dreams turn into solid reality and the dream world acquires the functionality of tangible reality?

The photos were taken in the Venetian lagoon in the spring of 2022, early in the morning. The hero of the series are silk squares, products of Galleria l’arte di seta.

The cycle of photographs with its repetition, refocusing and slow rhythm resembles poetry.

Silk madrigals are a combination of images and subsequently words, created in collaboration with Lidia. I sincerely thank her for the sparkling gatherings.
